Uttarakhand: Foreign media reports confirm a tragic helicopter crash in the Himalayan mountains, claiming the lives of six pilgrims, including a child.
Disaster response official Nandan Singh Rajwar stated that the helicopter had departed from the Kedarnath Temple in India’s Uttarakhand state with pilgrims onboard when it went down. Rescue operations commenced immediately upon receiving news of the crash.
Media reports suggest that authorities are attributing the cause of the helicopter crash to adverse weather conditions. The Kedarnath Temple, a popular pilgrimage site, is situated at an elevation of 11,759 feet in the Himalayas.
This incident follows another recent aviation tragedy in India earlier this week, when an Indian airline passenger plane crashed in a residential area of Ahmedabad, killing 279 people. Additionally, just last month, six individuals also died in a helicopter crash while en route to the same temple
