LAHORE, 3rd October, 2024 (WAM) — The Pakistan Women’s cricket team is set to commence its ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign in the United Arab Emirates, with a match against Sri Lanka Women at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

According to the , the tournament features ten teams competing over 18 days across venues in the UAE, with Pakistan placed in Group ‘A’ alongside Australia, India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.

The team will face India on 6th October and defending champions Australia on 11th October, concluding group play against New Zealand on 14th October. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for 17th and 18th October, with the final on 20th October at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The Pakistan Women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana expressed confidence in her team’s preparations, highlighting their recent series against South Africa and warm-up matches as key to their readiness for the tournament in the UAE.
