Internet Services Down in Several Areas of Karachi
KARACHI: Mobile internet services have been disrupted across several areas of Karachi since last night, causing inconvenience for residents relying on online communication and activities.
Authorities have cited security concerns as the reason for the suspension. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior clarified that such measures are implemented only in areas facing specific security risks, with services remaining operational elsewhere in the country.
In related developments, ahead of PTI’s planned protests, extensive security measures have been enforced in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Containers have been placed at 33 entry points to the twin cities, restricting access at major routes like Faizabad, IJP Road, Rawat T-Chowk, Mandrah, and Taxila.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, following the Islamabad High Court’s directives, reached out to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, urging compliance with the court’s decision. The minister emphasized that no rallies, sit-ins, or processions would be allowed given the current circumstances.
Adding to the situation, a high-profile delegation from Belarus, led by the Belarusian President, is scheduled to visit Islamabad from November 24 to November 27. The delegation’s arrival is being closely coordinated to ensure security and minimal disruption.
