ISLAMABAD: Citizens across Pakistan spotted the Shawwal moon, confirming that Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow (Monday), News reported.

People in Islamabad, provincial capitals, and other cities observed the moon with the naked eye, marking the end of Ramadan.

Maulana Abdul Khabeer chaired a meeting of the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Islamabad, where officials reviewed testimonies from across the country and announced the sighting of the Shawwal moon.

Chairman Abul Khabeer Azad announced the sighting of the Shawwal moon and confirmed that Pakistan will celebrate Eid ul Fitr tomorrow. He thanked Allah for blessing Pakistan and prayed for the country’s prosperity and development.

He praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their crucial role in defending the country and urged everyone to pray for their success in combating terrorism. He also encouraged the nation to honor the martyrs of the armed forces in their prayers.

Earlier, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced that Sindh, including Karachi, will not face gas loadshedding during the Eid ul Fitr 2025 holidays.

According to the statement, SSGC will ensure an uninterrupted gas supply during the Eid holidays, providing relief to citizens.

However, the company clarified that this commitment will remain in effect from Chand Raat until the third day of Eid.

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has deployed over 3,500 officers and personnel across the city to patrol and prevent crime during Eid ul Fitr 2025.

Additionally, authorities have assigned 500 traffic officers to regulate traffic, especially for tourists traveling to and from Murree.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has introduced a comprehensive security plan for Eid ul Fitr to safeguard citizens and tourists in the capital.

Emphasizing key measures, IG Rizvi announced the establishment of 18 security checkpoints at the city’s entry and exit points to monitor and regulate movement.

Authorities will launch a crackdown on street crime, reckless behavior, and aerial firing to maintain public safety.

IG Rizvi emphasized that officials have designated all parks, including Lake View and Daman-e-Koh, as family parks to create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for families during Eid celebrations.
