HONG KONG — China Southern Airlines has suspended the sale of 10 Boeing airplanes as the carrier expects the fallout from tit-for-tat tariffs by the U.S. and China to disrupt future deliveries from the U.S. aircraft maker.

The state-owned carrier had announced in November that it would sell 10 B787-8 airplanes and two GE Aerospace engines as part of updates to its fleet. In a Friday announcement on a platform tracking Chinese corporate asset sales, China Southern said it will suspend these plans.
