TOKYO — Foreign luxury hotel brands are following a rise of overseas travelers to Japan, causing the average rate at non-Japanese properties in Tokyo to rise nearly 60% in five years.

Hilton Worldwide opened its highest-end Waldorf Astoria brand in Osaka this month. The U.S. hospitality company says it aims to open 100 hotels in Japan by 2030.
