HONG KONG/SHANGHAI — About a month into a trade war between the U.S. and China that rattled the world, both rolled back the bulk of tariffs in an unexpected move.
Starting Wednesday, the U.S. will reduce tariffs on Chinese imports to 30%, down from 145%. China will reciprocate by lowering duties on American goods to 10% from 125%.
