Pakistan receives 2nd tranche of $ 1.2b from IMF
KARACHI: Pakistan received the second tranche of Special Drawing Rights (SDR) 760 million, equivalent to $1.02 billion, from the International Monet Fund (IMF).
The State Bank of Pakistan(SBP) confirmed that the Pakistan SBP has received 2nd tranche from IMF under Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.
IMF Executive Board completed the first review under the EFF in its meeting held on May 09 2025, and approved disbursement of SDR 760 million for Pakistan.
Accordingly, SBP has received SDR 760 million (US$ 1,023 million) in value May 13 2025 from the IMF. The amount will be reflected in SBP’s foreign exchange reserves for the week ending on May 16 2025.
