LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested three human traffickers, including an agent, for allegedly defrauding citizens by luring them with false promises of overseas job.

FIA Gujranwala Zone said the arrested individuals were involved in extracting large sums of money, as well as cases of kidnapping and torture related to human smuggling operations.

The suspects have been identified as Azhar Iqbal, Muhammad Ikram, and Yousaf Ali. The accused were arrested from various locations in Gujranwala and Gujrat districts.

An FIA spokesperson stated that the culprits were found guilty of collecting millions of rupees from victims under the pretext of securing jobs abroad.

Azhar Iqbal, was arrested during raid in Mohalla Usmanpura, Gujrat.

The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests and revelations are expected as FIA intensifies its crackdown on human trafficking networks.
